Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Prompty: the desktop app, the website at useprompty.com and the Prompty API. Prompty is provided by [Your full legal name], an individual based in [your state], United States (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Prompty you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Prompty

You must be at least 13, or 16 where the law sets that age for consent, and old enough to make a binding contract where you live to buy Pro. If you use Prompty for an organization, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details and API keys private; you're responsible for activity on your account. Sign out any PC you don't recognize from the Devices page, and revoke any API key you think has leaked from the Developers page. Tell us at support@useprompty.com if you think your account has been misused.

Plans and billing

• Free includes 25 rewrites a month.
• Pro costs $12 a month, plus any applicable tax, and includes 600 rewrites a month. It renews automatically each month and is billed by Stripe until you cancel.
• Allowances reset on the 1st of each month and don't roll over.
• You can cancel any time from the Billing page; Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds: if Pro isn't for you, email us within 14 days of your first Pro payment and we'll refund it. Other payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires. Deleting your account ends Pro at once, without a refund for the rest of the period.
• We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to you.

The desktop app

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the Prompty desktop app while you have an account. The app updates itself: it downloads new versions in the background and installs them when you choose to restart. Don't copy, resell, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows that regardless of this restriction.

The Prompty API

You can use the API, with keys from the Developers page, in your own projects. API use counts toward the same monthly allowance and rate limits as the app. Keep keys out of public code and apps, and don't use the API to resell Prompty itself as a service.

Acceptable use

Don't use Prompty to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
• create content meant to harm, harass, deceive or exploit people;
• attack, overload or probe the service, or get around plan limits or rate limits;
• share your account or keys so others can avoid paying for their own.

Prompty sends your prompts to Anthropic's Claude, so Anthropic's usage policy applies to them too. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Your content

You keep all rights to your prompts and to the rewrites you receive. You let us process them only to provide Prompty to you, as the Privacy Policy describes. We don't use your content to train AI models.

AI output

Rewrites are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Review them before you rely on them, especially for code, legal, medical or financial matters. The AI tools you send prompts to have their own terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using Prompty and delete your account at any time from Dashboard → Profile. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or stop offering Prompty with reasonable notice and a refund of any unused prepaid period.

Disclaimers and liability

Prompty is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim about Prompty is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [your state], United States, and disputes will be handled in its courts, except where the consumer laws of the place you live give you the right to bring them there.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and update the date above, and email account holders before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Prompty after that, the new terms apply.
